On March 12, Changshu Municipal Committee and Changshu People’s Government held 2019 investment briefing entitled “Changshu—A top investment destination in Yangtze River Delta” in Tokyo, which introduced Changshu’s economic achievements and friendly business environment. Over 500 distinguished guests and merchants from all over Japan attended the meeting, in which a signing ceremony of projects over 3 billion dollars was held, covering fields of automobile and its parts, metallic materials and building materials, high performance resin, modern service, etc. In addition, the launching ceremony of “Sino-Japan Innovative Cooperation Industrial Park” was also held in the briefing.

In recent years, Changshu consecutively established sister city relationship with Ayabe and Satsumasendai and over 10 Japaneses became Changshu honorary citizens. Since 1994, Sharp Corp., one of the Fortune 500, founded in Changshu, over 200 Japanese-funded enterprises settled through investment with a total investment of 7 billion dollars, which greatly intensified the opening advantage and sharpened the edge of foreign exchange earning.
