According to Chinese City Charity Index issued recently by the Chinese Charity Federation, Changshu, accomplishing a total of 76.85 points, emerged as a top ten county level charity city.

Chinese City Charity Index, an indicator system for comprehensive monitoring and scientific evaluation of the nation’s regional charity development, is commonly known as “Urban Love GDP.” The newly released index represents a statistical coverage of 51 indicators ranging from 6 areas as follows: public donation, volunteer service, charity organization, charity contribution to the economy, government support, and charity culture. Such statistics is highly representative of the national picture, since it involves 87.5% of its provincial areas, 39% of its urban ones, and 77 million people, i.e., 56% of its population.
